Black Friday

Since the Thanksgiving holiday is over, let's reflect on the marketing of Black Friday. So many places marking down product to draw people in for a sale, but there is a catch. What these businesses won't tell you is, when you buy the product that is marked down, it also causes you to buy more product because of the good deals. Businesses make a lot much money on Black Friday just because so many people come in to buy gifts for Christmas.

Proof

Can you prove that your product is the best? If not, you should. Proving that your product is worth buying is crucial to making good money in the business world. Take Cummins for example. They have proved that there diesel engines are one of the best in the business since 1913. Hours and hours of testing goes into there product and that is what has made them what they are today.

Let's talk about something that nobody seems to want to understand any more. Simplicity. There is an old method that people used to use that works better than new methods. It's called the K.I.S.S method. Keep, It, Simple, Stupid. No complex junk, just straight to the point. If people want to sell things, don't make it complex and hard to understand. Simplicity sells!!!

Knowing your product

Owning a business is more than just knowing how to run it, but knowing your products. Let's take instruments for example. Knowing about an instrument and how to play it can help when trying to sell, can help you when a customer has a question or wants to know what it sounds like. I am a drummer and can tell you the in's and out's of them. This gives an advantage when trying to explain the history or scarcity of that particular set. Marketing diversity

Marketing products can be difficult when the products are not diverse. Having diversity when producing products, can always lead to a wider range of people. In a hot rod business, it's not about building a classic car, but build a lifted truck, or a lowered truck, or something new, etc. Keeping  products diverse will lead to a bigger business with a wider range of people, wanting to buy product.

Sometimes building or producing something that you want, will not bring the profits needed. Building or producing what customers want will bring profit. In a hot rod shop, it's not all about building your dream car every time you get a new one, but it's about building what other people want to make profit.
